9 things you (probably) don’t know about me

If that sounds like a “me, me, me” Blog Post to you, that’s because it is, and I’m not apologizing about it. I have to admit though, I’m a little out of my comfort zone here as I tend to not share that much stuff about me in public space. I usually feel like it’s not relevant to anyone following me on Social Media and I’d be better keeping private things… well, private.

But today is not the day! Today I feel like sharing just a tiny bit more than I’m used to – plus it’s on my Personal Blog, so it’s like cheating in a sense. I can do whatever pleases me here.

All right, I know you can’t wait to read all of this and know more about my person, so without further ado, let’s jump right into it!

🌿 Jewelry Maker

I cannot for the life of me type “jewelery”… “jewlery”… “jewelry” right on the first try. It took me three times for this heading alone. Azerty, qwerty… no matter which type of keyboard is involved, my fingers just can’t follow the sequence of letters correctly. It is quite annoying considering that creating and selling jewelry is part of my job, and having an Online Shop means that I’m writing this word very regularly.

I swear, it’s driving me nuts when I’m in the process of adding new products, writing descriptions of them. And I’m aware of the different spelling between UK / US, but I’m not even gonna go into that, okay? It’s too much, I can’t take it. Why does this word have to be so complicated? Ugh.

🌿 Overwatch Player

I play Overwatch, a lot – Ana Main btw. You may have already caught it when I took you for a tour of my Atelier, but on top of playing this video game, I tend to also incorporate elements of it into my Witchcraft Practice. There are always one or two Pachimari Plushies living on my Main Altar, and the characters of this fictional universe are an amazing source of inspiration for archetype-related kind of work.

I’m not usually one to introduce pop culture much in my spirituality, but Overwatch is kinda special to me, and it’s earned its place in my space. And when I’m not listening to music, a podcast or a YouTube video while working on new Wooden Treasures, you can bet that there will be some Overwatch League playing in the background.

🌿 The Dark Tower

… by Stephen King is my favorite saga EVER. Forget about your Lord of the Ring, Harry Potter, and The Chronicles of Narnia. I mean, these are great, but nothing beats the epic story of Roland Deschain and his companions. Especially volume 4, Wizard and Glass. It is one of the most precious gems I’ve ever read in my life.

I’m only talking about the books by the way. The movie… ahem… it’s a shame, it should not even exist in my opinion. TV-wise though, my favorite series is The Haunting of Hill House. I can’t wait for Season 2 to come next week. I’m so excited about this!

🌿 Bullet Journal

I’m a Bullet Journaler. Journaler? Journalist? Is that even a thing? Anyways, I started this planning/note-taking kind of thing back in 2014 or 2015. At that time I was getting a formation on entrepreneurship and micro-business and in need of just a tiny bit of organization. I was about to open Lune de Sève, my very first shop back when I was living in France.

I have filled plenty of Bullet Journals since, often mixing to-dos and memories among books and tarot decks wishlists. Surprisingly enough, I’ never got tired of it after all these years, but I guess it’s because the format itself allows for plenty of experimentation and transformation along the way. It’s an ever-changing tool, very adaptable, and I usually have fun playing with it.

🌿 Forever Hiker

One of the things I enjoy most in life is exploring the mountains and the gorgeous forests around here. Also, my not-so-secret goal when hiking in this corner of the world is to see a Black Bear. I’ve already been lucky enough to encounter a coyote running in the woods near my home, but I’m really hoping for a bear someday.

Another dream of mine would be to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail but unfortunately, I’m pretty sure this one will only happen in another life. Oh well, I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest regardless, and as long as my Immigration Status will allow me to live here, I will call this place Home and embrace all of its beauty as much as I can.

🌿 Jack-of-all-trade

… master of none? I’d like to think that I’m pretty skilled with certain things (like Wood Burning, maybe?). Certainly not a master by any means, but pretty good anyway. One thing’s for sure though, I’ve always put my interest in a lot of different paths. I’m curious about anything and everything, I love to learn and study, and I like to see by myself if things resonate with me or not.

Work-wise for example, I started as a graphic designer, before deciding to go back to university to study modern literature. Then I worked as a librarian for a while before creating my own decoration and jewelry business. And in the midst of it all, I changed country. Talk about a non-linear trajectory, am I right?

🌿 Glass Etching

Speaking of skills, before engaging with wood burning and pyrography, I learned a whole other kind of engraving technique: glass etching. All made by hand of course, no etching cream shortcut. It’s such a different material to work with compared to wood. Like stone and butter, if you know what I mean. Although both have in common that they do not allow mistakes: once it’s carved, there’s’ no erasing it.

I realize it’s been a while since I’ve done some glass etching. My tools are still packed with a lot of my belongings in France, and with the borders closed and everything, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to travel there and get some stuff back. But that’s okay, I have plenty here to keep me busy anyway, a lot of Personal Projects on the burner.

🌿 Shaky Hands

I have a slight tremor in my hands. I don’t know exactly where it’s coming from, but strangely enough, it tends to be less annoying when I’m focused on burning things or drawing. Which is a blessing, considering that I love to work on teeny-tiny pieces of wood. Having my hands shaking too much in that moment wouldn’t be that fun, right?

Having read this, you’d never believe I never burned myself with my Pyrography Pens, even on the smallest pieces I’ve worked on – I’m talking about a less than a centimeter round bead regularly slipping off my fingers. In the kitchen though… Oh my, I’m a champion! Don’t let me near the oven door.

🌿 Childhood Dream

At some point when I was a kid, I wanted to become an “animal drawing artist” or something of the sort. Well, I guess I kinda succeeded in following my childhood dream. Hey mini-me-of-the-past, look at all the animals I made for you! ♥

And here’s a bonus fact for you, reader: I’m a proud triple Leo – Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign – what a nice excuse for having such a self-centered Blog Post, heh?

Also, INTJ here. Anyone else relates?
