Nestled Treasures – New Spring Collection Released!

Nestled Treasures – New Spring Collection Released!

Happy Spring, everyone! I know the Equinox is already in the rearview mirror but the rest of the season is definitely ahead of us and I’m excited for the days to come!

Now, I have some good news to share with you: Creative Project number one: check! And you have no idea how much joy it brings me to see this new collection nestled in my store today! Seven unique pieces lovingly crafted on a brand new support, one I’d never worked with before. Seven pyrographed Wooden Eggs, inspired by the colors, themes and enchanting beauty of Spring Season.

Now let me tell you how this collection came to be and the lessons learned along the way, because boy, was it a long journey!

Usually, whenever I come up with a new idea or creative project, it starts with a sudden burst of inspiration. A spark that pops randomly in my imagination, where it will start to grow, filling more and more space, until I finally engage with it and take the first step to capture its ephemeral magic in tangible form. Once the process started, it will sometimes flirt with the realm of obsession, leading me to push everything else aside to focus exclusively on that new, shiny idea that needs to exist.

I’ll be the first to admit that this is not always the healthiest way to engage with a new project, but if you’re a Creative Spirit yourself, you must know how it is sometimes. You just have to give in. Because you know how amazing that first wave of creative flow feels; it would be a shame not to ride it and explore the wonderful journey it will take you on.

Now, this collection? It was the complete opposite. The idea didn’t sprout this year (more like a decade ago), and I was never in a hurry to gather the materials I needed to start as soon as possible. No, no, I only bought the unfinished wooden eggs at the beginning of last year. And even then, it took me a whole other year before I actually started decorating them. Now that’s a way of doing things I’m not really familiar with. Unknown territory.

Was I overthinking the whole project, causing hesitation when I should have just started? Was it the weight of self-doubt and the fear of failure that casted shadows on the path ahead? Maybe add a pinch of perfectionism into the mix: the idea was drafted with so many details in my mind’s eye that I knew it would be impossible to materialize it exactly as I envisioned it – call it the curse of having a rich, vivid Imaginative Realm. Like tangled vines, I let the uncertainty take root and for years, the idea lingered in the recesses of my mind, waiting patiently for the right moment to bloom.

But Nature has a way of guiding us forward, pushing us to shed our fears and embrace the rhythm of creation. And so, with a spirit renewed by the promises of a beautiful Spring spent in a new home, I finally got to work on it. As I began to untangle the knots of doubt that had bound me, the once-dormant ideas began to rise to the surface again, awakening from the deep slumber I’d let them in.

I can’t really put words to the feelings I experienced as I made progress with the collection yet – just like the long creative process itself, that’s still foreign land to me. All I know is that seeing each new egg being brought to existence felt different from the sense of achievement I get when I usually finish a project. Lighter, softer, but also more lasting.

What I can do though, if you ever find yourself standing at the edge of a creative project, entangled, is offer a few words of encouragement. It’s okay to take your time, to nurture your dream, but don’t let it stay there. Embrace the journey. Take that first step; it’s never as scary or hard as you think it is. You can’t fail, no matter the end result, for you’ll have birthed the idea that chose to live within you, for you’ll have engaged in what I personally consider to be the most Sacred Act in the Universe: creation.

As Spring unfurls and the world awakens once more, my hope is that we continue nurturing the seeds of inspiration that lie within us, waiting to bloom in their own time. This new collection is a testament to that, with each Wooden Egg telling a story of growth, renewal, but also playfulness. Of course, it’s also my way to celebrate the bewitching beauty of the Living World and the changing seasons.

May it serve as a reminder that Magic surrounds us every day, and may it inspire you to embrace your own creative journey with open arms 🌸🌿💛
