It’s time for yet another change to take place in my little universe. I’ve been meaning to do it for a while and the moment has finally come: we’re saying goodbye to the Jewelry Section of my shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first let’s go back to when I started to work as an independent online shop owner back in 2015. Jewelry was a huge part of my business then, the majority of what I was creating and selling. But, and maybe it’ll come as a surprise to you, jewelry making has never been my favorite part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What really makes me happy is working with wood, experiencing the different textures, the softness of the grain, the rough bark on the side, watching the lines being carved in a cloud of smoke, seeing the design come to life with gentle strokes of brush and ink. Woodburning has always been my favorite activity in this amazing job that I created for myself. It’s the best way I found to reach that deeply appreciated Flow State that allows for contemplation, reflection, and in the end, personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in comparison, jewelry crafting is definitely not as smooth, calm, or relaxing for me. It’s not unusual to hear me complaining, be it after the tiniest components that once again decided to roll and hide in the carpet, or after my everlasting clumsiness which caused me to spill yet another box of beads all over my desk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention the many, many times I get mad at my pliers for pinching my fingers. I never burn myself while working on wood, even on the smallest of pieces and designs, but the pinching and cutting? That’s basically certain to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But anyways, in the end, even if I managed to make the jewelry making part more enjoyable over time, it never brought as much joy as the rest of my activity, and last year’s long forced break made it even more obvious. Without a shop to fill with jewelry, I didn’t find myself reaching for my pliers and beads as much as usual, except to craft a couple of pieces here and there for my own personal collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selling jewelry was a no-brainer when I lived and worked in France. It made perfect sense. And I don’t want for it to sound like I’m being ungrateful to the people that were here in the very beginning, buying jewelry pieces and thus allowing me to get my business started. I really don’t, I have so many fond memories of this time and the amazing people I was lucky to meet thanks to this particular activity. It would never have happened if I had not followed this path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But six years down the line, things have become very different, the needs and wants of the people supporting my work have changed. I’ve changed too. I’ve moved across continents and even renamed my shop, placing the emphasis on the “Art” at the end of it – that little detail in itself should have made me think of going in this direction much earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, it’s like I’ve finally reach the perfect balance and alignment between what I truly enjoy imagining and crafting and what people on the other side (you!) want to see and bring into their life. That’s the best I could ever ask for, and I’m even more grateful for everything now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So yeah, it’s time to say goodbye to a part of my Craft that accompanied me for many seasons. And goodbyes are never easy. But the truth is, I could use more room to expand with my favorite creative outlet and share projects and workings that are even more in line with what I want to express in this Living World, more in tune with my Present Self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here’s to change, renewal, and lots of Forest Treasures to come!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, the remaining jewelry will stay in the shop for a couple of weeks. They will be gone by July 31st, so if you had your eyes on one of them, now’s the time<\/a> to treat yourself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
